Gospel is the same word as Good News in other translations it could be rendered as

Preaching or Proclaiming as his way (God).

Glad tiding, and the Traditions which you have learned.

APPLICATION OF THE GOSPEL

The Gospel is a personal invitation to obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

PASTOR RE BOSWELL

Not in the same way as sharing God’s Glory

But in the sense of obtaining God’s Glory

To share:

as God illuminates you (as Moses)

changes You (as Saul)

and sanctifies you as (Aaron).

“Scripture says If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us.

2 Timothy 2:12

This is the right way.

This is the right tradition

The wrong way is the route Lucifer took

  • And was found cast, to the ground and sentenced to a pit of eternal damnation.

OLD TESTAMENT: SURVEY PRESENTATION of Moses rendition of OT Gospel

Numbers 10: 29

And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the Lord hath spoken good concerning Israel.

(Concise reading)

In the Old Testament when Moses led the people of Israel to the Promised Land, he was convinced that, what God told him was true. He led, during an era of change, and an era of growth and development.

In times of change leaders must not only be a spiritual guide but be an inspirational as well. An magnanimous character, not prone to lose it when the going gets tough. In a way the leader has to be a good salesman to convince others that this way (Gospel) is better than the way that you are currently going. He had to maintain a positive mental attitude throughout the difficult roads ahead.

THE GLORY THE GOSPEL and THE POWER of our GOSPEL

Qualifications to share in the fruit of the Gospel must be met by asking.

WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, and WHO

WHY because it is what you are chosen for, to lead, not for titles or our any weak reason, but the why has to be a strong reason. A sustainable reason. You should not have to tell any one that God told you to do it. That should be a given. Many times when people said the God told them to do something it doesn’t leave any room for another person to question them. To say why are you doing this. The Why has to be intertwined for your purpose for living.

YOUR answer should be along the vein of Esther’s call to save God’s people from utter destruction.

To move and carry the gospel message for such a time as this.

What: GOSPEL to share the good news to contradict the forces that are against God’s way

Who: Who is the big Unit the who is important strategy is attached to who and the importance of the mission relies not only on the fact that God told you to go but between point A and B is usually a gray area. In the gray area the Who is important.

Moses knew this He wanted his brother-in-law to travel with him to aide in the way to the destination where God wants you to Go.

READ SCRIPTURE

Numbers 10: 29

And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the Lord hath spoken good concerning Israel.

Thus were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their armies, when they set forward.

29 And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the Lord hath spoken good concerning Israel.

Moses knew the art of war knowing unless we are familiar with the face of the country its physical landscape its mountains and forest its pitfalls and precipices its marshes and swamps he was unqualified to lead.

30 And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.

Little is said about the disposition of Hobab (except in the Judges 4 his descendant Heber the Kenite’s wife smote Sisera (the enemy general) with a nail from the

tent through the temple as he slept.) So we know his seed survived to live in later generations

31 And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes.

Sometimes the people you work with become like family after a while and relationships develop you learn to lean on their skills and they seek your strengths also. If a carpenter walks into a room he sees the framing behind the walls If a painter walks in the room he sees the quality of the paint on the walls A plumber sees something else an electrician sees something else. Moses wanted Hobab to see for him the things that laity would not notice.

32 And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the Lord shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee.

Its hard to incentivize a person with an intangible promise.

You may know that the Lord is good but everyone does not share the same enthusiasm.

Sometimes asking a faithless person to have faith is an adventure in futility, Its like teaching algebra to a six-year-old algebra. It’s not that they do want it just for the sake of not wanting it is the faithless does not have the capacity to receive the same way people of faith do.

Through training you develop your faith into a greater faith

But you must first receive in a concrete way by what you see and touch and feel (Thomas) this is later developed into receiving by the word God (Centurion) and standing on it as truth.

Whereunto He called you by our Gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Before obtaining the promised land you must see the promised land you must use your imagination as a vehicle to take you there before you physically arrive.

Who: (reiterated) Who is the big Unit the who is important strategy is attached to who and the importance of the mission relies not only on the fact that God told you to go but between point A and B is usually a gray area. In the gray area the Who is important.

Moses knew this He wanted his brother-in-law to travel with him to aide in the way to the destination where God wants you to Go.

Scripture indicates that he was a survivor from the people who knew the land. His ability to guide Israel to the promise land through difficult terrain was indispensable so Moses though.

TRUE FRIEND

But sometimes where God is taking the people you where with on your last stage are not equipped to serve along side you on your next plateau. It doesn’t mean that you are no longer friends. A true friend is a friend for life even if you haven’t spoken for a year or even five. But when you speak to them you pick back up immediately with no love lost.

Hobab was Moses homeboy he was married to his sister but Hobab said I will not go with you. Yet in Judges 6 we see that a descendant of Hobab was instrumental in providing a key victory in the slaying of Sisera when Barack had him on the run. True Friends are like quivers they are useful at a time when you need them but without asking them they just see a need and come through for you.

Altar Call Jesus is a Friend that sticks closer than a brother

The altar was made holy and anything coming into contact with it became holy.

EXODUS 29:37

33 And they departed from the mount of the Lord three days’ journey: and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.

Jesus is bidding you to enter his Rest

34 And the cloud of the Lord was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.

PRAYER

35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O Lord, unto the many thousands of Israel.

PREACHER NOTES: “Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman to the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from My mouth, warn them from Me. 18 When I say to the wicked, ‘You will certainly die,’ and you do not warn him or speak out to tell him to turn from his wicked way to save his life, that same evil man will die in his sin, but you will be responsible for his blood. 19 However, if you have warned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he will die in his sin; but you have [a]freed yourself [from responsibility].

Ezekiel 3:17-19

We know that the minute Moses dropped the ball so to speak and lost it as struck the rock when he was instructed to tap it. He was denied the very thing that he was leading the people to.

Nowadays we could lose our composure stop following the spirit and pick up the works of the flesh stop and be denied access to what God is leading us towards.

When walking with God you are leading others there is an army before to the side and to the rear. The ones before are those would pass on the ones to the side are your contemporaries and the ones to the rear are those who come after you if Jesus shall tarry.

When leading people, you must be honest to why you are going and where you are going answering WHY
