The Spiritual Man by Watchman Nee is highly recommended.

The infiltration of Eastern religion and occult mysticism into Western civilization (It’s really the Old Age Movement), the promise of enlightenment or accelerated status when one resists God’s command or law, a measure or type of anti-grace.

The serpent said to the woman. “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Genesis 3:4-5

New Agers today call themselves a Transcendental Order? Its nomenclature (New Age Movement) is deceptive being the oldest false practice/religion in the world. Established when Satan Promised Eve secret (esoteric) knowledge. Today this is still prevalent through spiritual mysticism, secret orders and organizations that guard secrets through exclusivity with practices and rites that induct its members by initiation. Many in exclusive secret societies preach anti-Christ doctrine as Satan did to Eve in the Garden. The Evil-one’s tactics didn’t change just the souls who he seeks to deceive, saying:

1) “you will not die” 2) “your eyes will be opened” and (3) “you will be like God.

John the Apostle called these groups the depths of Satan (Rev. 2:24) Satan’s attempt to form a body of believers (an attempt to emulate God’s Church) these are recognized as New Age or the children of Jezebel. Morally doesn’t justify only the application of blood from the ultimate sacrifice (the blood of Jesus) makes one acceptable to God. Those who don’t qualify are them who have an inability to recognize Jesus as Lord but prefer to act as a sponge absorbing all cultures, religions and governments (same as During the Age of Babel: confusion by mixture) without contradiction except to the imaginary forces that oppose independent personal beliefs.

The Church (the Body of Christ) on the other hand is an inclusive organism who’s CEO (Jesus Christ) is the Eternal One that unlike Buddha/Confucius whose bones were found and are now scared relics. What good are these dry bones vs. the Living God who is without beginning or end, from the order of Melchisedec (simultaneously holding the offices of Prophet, Priest and King).

Jesus is still calling souls to:

Come to me, all you who are troubled and weighted down with care, and I will give you rest.”

Matt 11:28 (BBE, Bible in Basic English)

Recognizing New Age Religions by the Scriptures

1 John 2:22

“Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ?

He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.”

1 John 4:3

“And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”

2 John 1:7

“For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.”

Satan’s Tactics:

  • First You will not die

The day that Adam ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil was the same day man died (spiritually) …

that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (2 Peter 3:8b).

  • Second: Your eyes will be opened” (implying God was keeping them in darkness).

Extremely tempting and appealing to the intellect; Satan tempts Jesus, read: Matt.4:8-11.

  • Third: “You will be like God”

This is in violation of Principle (first) commandment: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me” (Exodus 20:3).

A misdirection of authority …”Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth” (1 Corinthians 8:1a).

Who is wise? Let him understand these things. Who is prudent? Let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right: the righteous walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them.” Hosea 14:9

Other New Age Beliefs

God is a force rather than a personal being.

We are all God along with nature we are one.

Jesus was not Christ but the Christ Spirit dwell in him.

New Age Thinking embraces Reincarnation

When people die they do not go to heaven or hell

They come back to earth and get another shot at life

Law of Karma: People get what they deserve

In the end you win because you get chance after chance

The problem is not sin its ignorance

Enlightenment is the path of spiritual progress

Is it Biblical to say Rest in Peace (R.I.P.)

The phrase “rest in peace,” often abbreviated “R.I.P.,” comes from the Latin blessing requiescat in pace (literally, “may he begin to rest in peace”). Is it biblical to say, “Rest in peace”? It depends.

“When someone dies, we often hear un-Bibilical statements such as “She’s an angel now” and “God needed another angel in heaven”; sometimes, we hear “He’s in a better place,” spoken with no thought that he might actually be in a worse place. The Bible is clear that physical death is not the end (Hebrews 9:27; John 3:16–18). Jesus taught that there are two options for every human being: heaven or hell (Matthew 10:28; 25:46; Mark 9:43). According to Scripture, a person who dies without Christ is not “resting in peace” (see John 3:18). “‘There is no peace,’ says my God, ‘for the wicked’” (Isaiah 57:21). However, death is entirely different for those who are “in Christ” (Romans 8:1; 1 Corinthians 1:30). First Thessalonians 4:13 reminds us that, while it is natural to grieve for loved ones who have died, we do not need to grieve for believers in Christ as though we will never see them again. There is hope mixed with the sorrow. The Bible often refers to the dead in Christ as “those who are asleep” (1 Corinthians 15:20; Acts 13:36; 1 Thessalonians 5:10). The biblical writers used sleep as a metaphor because death for a Christian is only temporary. Paul said that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8). According to the Bible, those receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior are with Him in paradise when they die (Luke 23:43). So, to say “rest in peace” about a Christian is biblical.”
